Patriot Viper V570 Blackout Edition Review
Patriot’s latest updates to the Viper software give the V560 new features making it one of the most versatile mice available on the market. The new Zero Delay feature, which increases response time from click to computer, propels the V560’s button response time to the top of the market. Zebronics Driver Downloads. Software- Both the Viper V360 Headset and the V560 Mouse have a heavy black and red theme going on. The mouse does this with a black casing and red on the buttons, scroll wheel, and the USB cord. The V360 mouse has an interesting shape that we can see a little in our overall photos where it is curvy with an odd angular tail.
- The Viper V560 is a bit of an oddball mouse. It’s incredibly heavy at 193 g, and it quickly crosses the 200 g threshold if you choose to stick in some of the six optional weights (29.4 g total).
Booting up the software for the first time, we expected to see some kind of firmware update option but there was nothing of the kind. Patriot must be confident in releasing a solid product first time around.
On the front page, there’s an awful lot to take in. The obvious function of this page is to customise the function of those macro buttons, of which there are plenty! It’s also possible to set up 5 different profiles, which can be selected on the fly using the button atop the mouse.
This page also allows you to set the Sniper Button DPI, which oddly isn’t configurable within the “sensor” tab.
Sensor adjustment takes place in the next tab, allowing 4 different DPI profiles to be allocated to the switch on top of the V570.
The Macro Editor records any input to the PC, be it the keyboard or the mouse, including delays. Many aspects can be adjusted and then assigned to one of the several buttons on the mouse itself.
USB Polling Rate is one of a handful of options on the settings page, however, we would’ve expected a little more customisation by this point in the software. Lift-off distance is something which is certainly missing.
Last, but certainly not least, is the RGB adjustment. We’re a little bit limited on effects to choose from, but you get the standard 16.7M colours to choose from and seven different lighting zones.
Just when we thought every company had jumped into the peripherals market at some point and time Patriot showed off their new product line back in June. They introduced a gaming mouse, headset, and a mechanical keyboard, basically the staples. Well late last fall they sent over the headset and mouse but I was a little slow to get into my testing. That said I’ve been testing them both out for a while now and today I’m going to break down what both the Viper V560 Gaming mouse and Viper V360 7.1 Headset are all about and see how they perform. With the peripheral market having so much competition, especially from a few well establishes brands Patriot has an uphill battle, but let’s see how they do with their first try.
